Smarter Liposuction™ is a similar but more advanced form of Liposuction but differs in that we don't put the patient under general anesthesia and use a local or tumescent anesthesia instead. When you're under general you are lying down the whole time so everything flattens out but things look entirely different when you are upright. So what we do is we stand the patient up during the process and this allows Dr. Barson to smooth out all of the irregularities that couldn't be seen while in a lying position. We also use a much thinner cannula (which is a tool that takes the fat out of the body). Because the cannula is so small, the size of the holes are only about 3mm

The Process

The Dr. numbs the fat with a saline based numbing solution. After the tissue is numbed, the solution and the fat are removed using a straw-like tool called a cannula which is inserted via tiny 2mm holes called adits. The size of the holes are small and the cannula is quit small. The procedure is quiet and the movements are gentle and slow. Smarter Liposuction™ leaves only tiny scars that fade over time to be almost unnoticeable. After the majority of the fat is removed, you will stand up and the final "fine tuning" will be accomplished in a standing position.

Is This Safe?

This form of liposuction is the safest ever devised. In over 20 years of use, there has never been a reported death from this technique. We've never had a patient expeience a serious complication or infection. All serious complications and deaths have all been attributed to liposuction under anesthesia.
