Botox
- before & after
Treating
Dynamic Wrinkles with Botox: Delicate
muscles beneath the skin contract and cause
the skin to fold when we make facial expressions.
As the years go by, these folds form permanent
creases that are called "dynamic wrinkles."
Dynamic wrinkles deepen with age and often
create a terse, stressed appearance.
The only way of effectively dealing with dynamic
wrinkles is to prevent them from forming.
This involves somehow stopping the muscles
from moving the skin around. Older techniques
involve cutting the muscles surgically to
stop their motion. This is an extreme solution
and frequently doesn't work. If it does work
it is permanent which could lead to other
problems.
Botox treatments offer individuals with dynamic
wrinkles smoother skin and a well-rested appearance.
Treatment involves the injection of a minuscule
amount of Botox that relaxes select muscles
and limits their ability to contract. After
treatment, the overlying skin lays flat and
unwrinkled while the untreated facial muscles
contract in a normal fashion, allowing normal
facial expression to be unaffected.
The most popular treatment areas are between
the eyebrows (globellar region) and wrinkles
by the eyes (crows feet). Lower face wrinkles
can also be treated with success. Repeated
injections progressively weaken the targeted
muscles and can lead to more prolonged effects
and less frequent treatments.
Botox is an excellent part of a comprehensive
anti-aging program and can improve the effects
of other treatments like Thermage and collagen
lasers.
FAQ:
Where do you
put the Botox?
The most common treatment areas are wrinkles
between the eyes, the forehead and crows feet.
Why
does Surface charge less than others?
Surface physicians have more experience and
perform more Botox injections than anyone
else, allowing us to keep prices down. So,
unlike some physicians who charge up to $250
just to fill the syringe, Surface charges
only for the amount of Botox you actually
use.
When
does Botox start to work, and how long does
it last?
The results of Botox treatment start to appear
in three to ten days. The treated muscles
will gradually regain their action over three
to five months. When the frown line starts
to reappear, a simple repeat treatment is
all that is necessary to maintain the desired
results. Please contact us for more details.
Who can perform
Botox treatments?
Botox must be performed under the direction

over 1 million people.

much time does a Botox treatment take?
A few minutes only.
Is
the treatment painful?
There is very little discomfort. Often, patients
